John Bornholdt joined Bornholdt Shivas & Friends
executive recruiters on January 1, l982. Prior to that, he spent
14 years in advertising and marketing and two years in military
service. He specializes in recruiting for advertising, marketing,
sales, sales promotion, and computer/MIS positions. His professional
training covers leadership positions with several major national
advertising agencies, a Fortune 50 corporation, and an elite airborne
division in Vietnam.
Following a military officer career under General
William Westmoreland with the l0lst Airborne Division in South
Vietnam, he joined Benton & Bowles Advertising Agency in NYC
in l968 as a network television programming account executive,
working with such accounts as Procter & Gamble, Texaco, Kraft-General
Foods, and General Motors.
In 1976, he joined Nabisco Foods in New York as the
Director of Advertising. He was responsible for managing the services
of seven advertising agencies in the daily servicing of over 60
product advertising assignments. Media spending was over $100-million
annually.
Subsequently, John joined BBDO Advertising Agency
in NYC as Vice President, Group Media Director. He directed a
staff of 20 professionals involved in the media planning and buying
for such accounts as Pepsi, Pizza Hut, Chrysler, Polaroid, Gillette,
and Campbell Soup.
John finished his advertising career at Ally &
Gargano, where he worked on the introductory national advertising
campaigns for start-up companies such as Federal Express, MCI,
and Apple Computer. All of these companies are highly successful
today.
